Abbigail Swatsworth of CenterPointe, Inc.
Abbigail Swatsworth is Marketer of the Month for AMA’s Lincoln Chapter.
Swatsworth is director of development for CenterPointe, Inc., which specializes in helping people with substance use and mental health disorders.
Her duties include writing copy for the Web and overseeing the production of donor communications, fundraising pieces and social marketing. She oversees all of the organization’s print, television, radio and online advertising, and plans and markets special events, writes grants, stewards donor relationships, and solicits corporate and individual major gifts.
Born in Rome, N.Y., Swatsworth has lived in Lincoln 21 years. Prior to joining CenterPointe, Swatsworth worked at Planned Parenthood of Lincoln and Friendship Home.
She described her philosophy of marketing.
“Good non-profit marketing provides a spark that connects people with causes that they care about, moves them to get involved, and maintains a relationship between the supporter and the people, animals, arts or environments they are supporting,” she said. “For me, the relationship between effective fundraising and effective marketing is one of the biggest keys to changing the world.”
She is an active member of Rotary Club No. 14 and serves as president of the Board with Community Services Fund. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
