The Lincoln AMA is Pleased to Announce January's Marketer of the Month, Pam Hunzeker of Bailey Lauerman

Pam Hunzeker is Marketer of the Month for AMA’s Lincoln Chapter.

Hunzeker is president/administration at Bailey Lauerman, a marketing communications agency. The Lincoln native has worked there 26 years and has witnessed many changes to the marketing landscape.

“I joined Bailey Lauerman in 1984 as an account executive,” she said. “I’ve had the opportunity to work with dozens of local, regional and national clients, directing strategy, solving problems, building brands, and guiding marketing communications, the creative process and agency teams. I’ve worked alongside highly talented professionals who have all taught me so much about advertising. And think about all the changes in technology and communication channels during this time period!”

Hunzeker, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, has a multifaceted job at Bailey Lauerman.

“With offices in Lincoln and Omaha and a staff of more than 80 professionals, my job consists of agency management, day-to-day business operations, resource management, staffing and account management,” Hunzeker said.

Bailey Lauerman has more than tripled in size during Hunzeker’s career, and it now works for several Fortune 500 companies. The agency is nationally and internationally recognized for world-class work, being named one of the Top 20 creative agencies in the United States. The agency is in the storytelling business, weaving brand tales for companies such as Disney, Union Pacific, Cessna, Pepsi, Honeywell Aerospace, and ConAgra Foods.

“The beauty of advertising is that there is always something new to learn and discover,” Hunzeker said. “It is never the same.”

Hunzeker, who is retiring in March, shared her marketing philosophy.

“People are bombarded by messages,” she said. “To be successful, you must understand your target audience, take time to simplify and identify the most compelling idea, and then communicate it in an interesting way that gains attention.”

Community service is important to Hunzeker. She serves or has served on boards for Leadership Lincoln, Food Bank of Lincoln, American Red Cross, United Way, YMCA and many others.

Hunzeker and husband Mark, an attorney, have two grown children living in Pittsburgh, Pa., and Portland, Ore., and three grandchildren.
