The Lincoln AMA Announces its Fiscal Year 2010-2011 Board of Directors

The Lincoln AMA is proud to announce its 22 Board of Directors for the 2010-2011 Fiscal Year. Stepping into the role as President of the Lincoln, Nebraska, chapter is Jennifer Schultz. She works for TELCOR Inc., a health care systems and solutions company specializing in providing software products for point-of-care data management, outreach compliance and clinical departments. Schultz holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Marketing, Advertising and Communications, with an emphasis in Advertising. In 2008, she earned her Professional Certified Marketer certification.

“I am excited and honored to serve in a capacity where I can help the Lincoln marketing community connect with the tremendous marketing resources that the American Marketing Association has to offer,” said Schultz.

Katherine Brockman, a Marketing Specialist at Firespring and a Professional Certified Marketer, is the Immediate Past President for the chapter. At Firespring, Brockman educates small and mid-size businesses on marketing best practices. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English, French and European Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Upon graduation, she spent a year teaching English in Nice, France.

Kiley Thiele, Vice President of the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Nebraska, has been named the President-Elect of the Lincoln AMA. Thiele has been a professional member of the AMA for eight years and earned her Professional Certified Marketer certification in 2004. She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Kearney with degrees in Marketing and Sociology. Thiele also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University.

Krystal Siebrandt is Vice President of Finance/Treasurer for the Lincoln AMA. Siebrandt is the Director of Assurance at HBE Becker Meyer Love LLP—a full-service CPA firm. She holds a Master’s Degree in Professional Accountancy and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, both from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Siebrandt earned her Certified Public Accountant designation in 2006 and her Certified Fraud Examiner designation in 2008. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors for the Lincoln AMA, she is also an active member of Lincoln’s Young Professionals Group, Nebraska Society of CPAs, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Janet Chung, Program Manager of Marketing Development for Lincoln Electric Systems (LES), has been elected to the Lincoln AMA Board to serve as this year’s Secretary. At LES, Chung’s focus involves customer outreach which is used for the development of programs and services such as e-newsletters for businesses, Business Advisory Councils, energy efficiency seminars, client meetings with commercial and industrial customers, and the Sustainable Energy Program. In addition to her involvement with the Lincoln AMA, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduate is the Co-Chair for the American Cancer Society’s Hope Gala and also serves on the Board of the American Red Cross.

Jessica McMullen, Marketing Manager for My InnerView, is Vice President of Membership for the Lincoln AMA. My InnerView maintains the largest database of customer and workforce satisfaction metrics for senior care entities, enabling My InnerView to provide senior care leaders with assistance and insight into improving performance and business outcomes. McMullen holds a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In addition to serving on the Lincoln AMA Board of Directors, McMullen is an active member with Lincoln’s Young Professionals Group.

Joanne Morgan, a Professional Certified Marketer, also serves as Vice President of Membership. Morgan is a Marketing Representative at Design Data and has worked for the Lincoln-based software company since December 2003. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts from Ramapo College in New Jersey. As Vice President of Membership, Morgan seeks to promote the many benefits of becoming or remaining a member of the local marketing chapter. She strives to develop and build relationships with every potential and current member.

Joan Hunt serves as Vice President of Meetings for the Lincoln, Nebraska, chapter. Hunt is an Account Supervisor with Bailey Lauerman—a marketing/communications firm whose job is to provide clients with a competitive edge.

Nia Nielsen is Vice President of Programming. Nielsen works as a Marketing Specialist for the Nebraska Children and Families Foundation. In this role, she focuses on Web development and content management, as well as takes on vendor relations and special projects as needed. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Dee Reinbold also serves as Vice President of Programming. She is a Marketing Manager at Firespring where she works directly with the national sales team and is responsible for coordinating the company’s tradeshows. She holds her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing with a minor in Advertising from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.

Brooke Rogers is Vice President of E-Newsletter Communications. Rogers is an Account Manager with Swanson Russell—a full-service marketing communications agency with offices in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska. At Swanson Russell, Rogers has worked with clients in technology, health care, clothing and turf industries. She is involved in every step of the marketing process and keeps clients informed while projects move from concept to completion.

Jessica Kinser, Marketing Director for Native American Public Telecommunications, Inc. (NAPT), serves as Vice President of Communications for the Lincoln AMA. At NAPT, Kinser develops, implements and evaluates marketing plans and strategies for NAPT products and services including VisionMaker Video and AIROS Audio. Through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting Production Fund, NAPT supports five to ten new film projects a year. Kinser holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is also a member of Rotary Club #14. In 2007, Kinser was the recipient of the Lincoln Public Schools’ Gold Star Award for her service to the school district. In 2010, she was awarded the Dorothy B. Clark President’s Award from the Lincoln AMA for her service and dedication to the Marketing field.

Zachary Rustad is Vice President of Sponsorships. Rustad is an Account Executive for Nanonation, Inc.—a rapidly growing Lincoln, Nebraska, based software development company specializing in interactive kiosks and digital signage—where he manages numerous accounts, including several Fortune 500 companies. In November 2009, Rustad was selected to be one of five team members of the Rotary International Group Study Exchange Program (GSE) to represent District 5650 in Brazil for five weeks beginning in May 2010. Rustad is a graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration majoring in Marketing with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship. In 1997, Rustad owned and operated his own computer business and has since followed the every-changing paradigms of technology, keeping the highest level of insight of its usage in the marketing field.

Jill Mathis, Director of Marketing & Sponsorship for Lincoln, Nebraska’s non-profit community radio station 89.3 FM KZUM, has been elected to the Lincoln AMA Board of Directors to also serve as Vice President of Sponsorships. Mathis is a graduate of the University of Hawaii-West O’ahu. She has been actively involved in LIBA, PNG, both Lincoln and Omaha Chambers of Commerce and the YWCA Event Planning Committee.

Clover Frederick is Vice President of Cause Camp. Frederick is the Founder of the Non-Profit Marketing Network—a consulting firm specializing in non-profits and small businesses¬—where she connects her clients to other marketing professionals who are willing and able to offer reduced rates or volunteer their time. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of the Lincoln AMA, Frederick is also an active member of Lincoln’s Young Professionals Group and serves on the Leadership Council as Co-Guide of the Philanthropy Committee. Frederick holds a Master’s Degree in Advertising, Marketing and Communications from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Mary Kate Gulick, a Managing Copywriter for Ervin & Smith Advertising and Public Relations, has been elected to also serve as Vice President of Cause Camp. At Omaha-based Ervin & Smith, Gulick consults directly with national and regional clients to create unique, effective messaging for print, online and broadcast communications. Gulick received her Bachelor’s Degree in Print Journalism from Illinois State University and then earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Advertising, Marketing and Communications.

Ali Schwanke is Vice President of Prisms. The Prism Awards is the Lincoln AMA’s annual awards ceremony recognizing outstanding marketing efforts in the Lincoln community and surrounding areas in over 15 categories. Schwanke is the Director of Marketing and Product Development for Leadership Resources. As a member of the Leadership Resources team, she has contributed greatly to the company’s growth through the implementation of successful marketing strategies, including the development of a new sales program, adoption and implementation of salesforceCRM and launch of a new, robust website. In May 2010, Schwanke was named Lincoln AMA’s Marketer of the Year.

Betsy Branscombe is Vice President of Special Interest Groups (SIGs). Branscombe is a Web Content Manager at Speedway Motors, where she and her team control and monitor content published online regarding the organization. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Marketing and Finance.

Randy Hawthorne, Professional Certified Marketer, is Vice President of Collegiate Relations. Hawthorne is Vice President of Business Development at Firespring, where he oversees the Research and Development of marketing products and services. Additionally, he manages the Firespring brand, as well as franchise development and support services. Hawthorne is a Past-President of the Lincoln AMA, where, under his leadership, the chapter was 1st Runner-Up for Chapter of the Year. He serves on the Board of GOLincolnGO!, the Community Services Fund and the Sheldon Art Association. Hawthorne works with Nebraska’s youth to develop leadership skills through the Nebraska Association of Student Councils Volunteer Staff, where he was Executive Director and recipient of the John Lux Award for outstanding contributions to Nebraska’s young people. Hawthorne is the 2008 recipient of the IFEA/Zambelli Fireworks Internationale Volunteer of the Year Award. Selected as one of “Lincoln’s 40 Under 40” by the Midlands Business Journal, he is a member of Rotary Club #14 where he serves on the Board.

Rob Simon is Lincoln AMA’s liaison with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Simon is an Assistant Professor of Practice at UNL with expertise in retail management and marketing principals. He holds an MBA from UNL. In 2008, he was a Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honorary and has received numerous nominations and honors pertaining to teaching and advising excellence.

Becky Perrett is a Director with the Lincoln AMA. Perrett is the Director of Marketing for Runza® National, which is comprised of Runza® Restaurants, Braeda® Fresh Express Café and Café on the Square. She holds a Master’s Degree in Advertising, Marketing and Communications with an emphasis in Marketing, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, both from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Perrett, a Professional Certified Marketer, is also a Past President of the Lincoln AMA.

Katie Tauer is also a Director with the Lincoln AMA. Tauer is a Marketing and Business Development Representative with BVH Architects. Her main objectives are to direct client relations and recognize opportunities for client development. She identifies and manages work flow potential, maximizes the business impact of numerous partnership relationships while also developing the branding and public relations programs. Tauer holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations and Marketing from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Tauer was also a participant in Rotary District 5650’s Group Study Exchange in Brazil. She is currently President of the Board of Directors for GOLincolnGO! and is a former Lincoln AMA President, where, under her leadership, the chapter took home the prestigious national award of Chapter of the Year in 2007.
