March Marketer of the Month: Molly Nance, Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital

Molly Nance is Marketer of the Month for AMA’s Lincoln Chapter. Nance is director of strategic planning and marketing at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, a position she’s held since February 2007.

She is responsible for directing and developing the strategic marketing planning for the hospital to achieve its corporate goals. Supervising a staff of four, she is responsible for marketing all Madonna business lines: the rehabilitation hospital, long-term care, outpatient, foundation, research institute, a fitness facility and spa. She works with internal staff and an ad agency to develop and place regional advertising. She manages the annual Goal Awards event, which includes video production featuring Madonna patients. She implements and oversees corporate communication standards, and she manages the corporate Web site.

She has reorganized the marketing department, designed and implemented a new Web site, and is developing a new video documentary on the rehabilitation process, as well as new program education videos.

Originally from Omaha, Nance served as senior director of communication and education for the Nebraska Hospital Association for five years prior to her employment with Madonna.

She holds a Master of Liberal Arts degree from Baker University in Overland Park, Kan., and a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She also holds the designation as a Professional Certified Marketer.

Nance is involved in a number of professional and community organizations, including the Lincoln Chapter of AMA, the International Association of Business Communicators, the Allied Public Relations Executive, the Society for Health Care Marketing and Development, and the Nebraska Healthcare Marketers Association. She also is the Nebraska Community Health Charities Executive Board director, is a member of the Updowntowners, the KZUM Community Radio group, and the Lincoln Track Club.

Her honors include being selected as one of “20 Under 40” young leaders by the Lincoln Journal Star and receiving a Leadership Citation Award through United Way/CHAD.

She and her husband Paul have a daughter, Audrey.
